Held in the welcoming environment of a South London jewellery studio, this 3-session course promises an exhilarating journey into the world of jewellery-making, where creativity knows no bounds!
Immerse yourself in a fun and creative atmosphere while mastering the fundamental skills of wax carving and stone setting in wax. Gemstones can be embedded directly into sculpted wax pieces and then cast using the lost wax casting method, offering a flexible and fun approach to gemstone mounting and setting experimentation. Discover a range of stones and waxes ideal for this technique, alongside captivating setting styles such as flush, grain, and bezel, igniting creativity and exploration.
Ring making: Stone setting in wax, 2 sessions
In this course, you'll explore wax carving by crafting a ring with a simple design. You will learn to integrate stones using diverse setting techniques like flush, grain, and bezel, enhancing your jewellery-making skills. Once you’re happy with your finished carving I will send it over to a casting company between session 2 and 3. Finally you will finish your piece to your taste, using traditional jewellery techniques such as filing, sanding and polishing.
Session 1:
In this course, you'll explore wax carving by crafting projects like rings or pendants with simple designs. You will learn to integrate stones using diverse setting techniques like flush, grain, and bezel, enhancing your jewellery-making skills.
We will start the day with a coffee or tea, looking a varied samples of what you will practice on the day, followed by a presentation that contain valuable information about the principle of setting stones directly in waxes.
Throughout the day I'll demonstrate how to set stones in wax using both flush, grain and bezel techniques tailored to the wax material. Additionally, I'll offer a plethora of valuable tips and insights, enabling you to refine the techniques covered in the course and beyond!
I will then send over your masterpiece to a casting company to be cast in the metal of your choice
Session 2:
Finishing your casted ring!
The casting will then need to be finished and polished! The finishing of your project is an essential part of creating a successful and gorgeous jewellery piece. You'll be using traditional jewellery techniques and tools such as sawing, filing, sanding, and polishing and received valuable tips to clean up your casting without damaging the stones in place. There's nothing more exciting than giving the final shine to your personal project!
No previous experience is required; you will be guided through the entire process step by step.
All tools and consumable materials such as wax and cubic zirconia stones will be provided as well as the service of sending your wax piece over to the casting company.
We recommend bringing your own stones if you wish to work with specific ones. A list of suitable stones for the technique can be provided upon request.
The course price doesn't include the silver casting price. This will be estimated during the session 1.
It will possible to cast your pieces in the metal of your choice such as 9 carats or 18 carat yellow gold. The price will be estimated during session 1.
Please wear closed shoes for safety reasons. Avoid long, loose-fitting sleeves and anything that might catch or get caught while working. Tie back long hair and bring reading glasses if needed.
I am a Swiss-French jewellery designer who came to London to graduate from the Goldsmithing, Silversmithing, Metalwork, and Jewellery department at the Royal College of Art.
Driven by my passion for sparkles and jewellery, I find joy in sharing my knowledge with others. With a teaching award from London and over 10 years of experience teaching adults, I help new jewellers and hobbyists alike learn and grow in this beautiful craft. In my studio, I am dedicated to encouraging and helping everyone discover their own creative touch in jewellery making!
Location
The studio is conveniently located, just a 1-minute walk from Loughborough Junction Railway Station and a 15-minute walk from Brixton Tube Station. The exact address will be provided by email once your booking is confirmed.
Timing and Space
There is a maximum of 2 places available per workshop. The price is per person.
Session 1 : (6 hours)
The workshop runs from to 10:30 am to 5 pm with a lunch break of 30 minutes.
Session 2 : (4 hours)
The workshop runs from to 10:30 am to 2:30pm.

You will be asked to expressly agree to these booking terms during the event booking process on our website. An event includes a course; individual or staff training; a party; or a special event.
Booking Process: Students must complete the booking process, including payment of the course fee, to secure their spot in the jewellery course.
Payment Policy: Full payment of the course fee is required at the time of booking. Payments are non-refundable unless otherwise stated in exceptional circumstances.
Payment Options: Payments can be made using a credit/debit card through Secure Hosting’s Universal Payment Gateway. Alternatively, students may use a gift voucher or explore alternative payment methods by contacting Aurelie Dellasanta Jewelelry directly via phone or email. Upon receipt of payment, an order confirmation acknowledgment will be sent or an email notification will be provided directly to the student.
Cancellation Policy: To cancel a booking, you are required to provide written notice either to the address specified at the conclusion of these booking terms or via email to aureliedellasantajewellery@gmail.com
In order to process cancellations or transfers, please ensure that your notice of cancellation reaches us by the specified date provided below. Please note that all cancellations and transfers are subject to an administrative fee of £15.
-Cancellations made by the student less than 30 days before the course start date are subject to forfeiture of the course fee.
-Requests for cancellation received more than 30 days before the event will qualify for a full refund, minus the administrative fee.
-Cancellation requests made within the 30-day period preceding the event will not be eligible for a refund unless a replacement student is secured prior to the start date, with the deduction of the administrative fee.
-Cancellation requests after the course or event commencement will not be entertained.
-Transfer to an alternate course or event must be requested in writing at least 14 days prior to the course start date
-Transfer requests made less than 14 days before the event may be declined unless a replacement student is found before the start date.
-Failure to attend a course, event, or session will result in no refund or transfer acceptance.
Course Schedule: The course schedule, including dates, times, and duration, will be provided to students upon booking confirmation via email.
Student Requirements: Students must adhere to any prerequisites or requirements specified for the course, such as prior experience or age restrictions. By booking with us, you confirm and assure that:
-You possess the legal capacity to enter into binding contracts, and you hold complete authority, power, and capacity to agree to these booking terms.
-The information provided in or related to your booking request is accurate and comprehensive.
-You will be available to attend the event at the advertised time and location.
-You meet the prerequisites and qualification criteria outlined in the course description for attending the event.
-You are at least 18 years old.
Rescheduling: The instructor reserves the right to reschedule or cancel the course due to unforeseen circumstances. In such cases, alternative arrangements or refunds will be provided to affected students.
Code of Conduct: Students are expected to conduct themselves in a respectful and professional manner during the course and adhere to any safety guidelines provided by the instructor.
Limitations and Exclusions of Liability:
-Assumption of Risks: By booking and participating in the event, you acknowledge and agree that there are inherent risks associated with jewelry-making activities. These risks include, but are not limited to, cuts, burns, and other injuries resulting from the handling of tools and materials.
-Release of Liability: You understand and accept that Aurelie Dellasanta Jewellery and its instructors will not be held liable for any personal injuries, accidents, or damages sustained during the event, including but not limited to injuries arising from negligence or misconduct.
-Indemnification: You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Aurelie Dellasanta Jewellery and its instructors from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, or expenses, including legal fees, arising out of or in connection with your participation in the event.
-Third-Party Services and Products: Aurelie Dellasanta Jewellery may provide information or recommendations regarding third-party services or products. However, we do not endorse or guarantee the quality, reliability, or safety of any third-party services or products recommended during the event.
-Limitation of Liability: In no event shall Aurelie Dellasanta Jewellery or its instructors be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising out of or in connection with your participation in the event, even if advised of the possibility of such damages.
-Force Majeure: Aurelie Dellasanta Jewellery shall not be liable for any failure or delay in performing its obligations under these booking terms and conditions if such failure or delay is due to circumstances beyond its reasonable control, including but not limited to acts of God, natural disasters, or government actions.
